Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film 2015 – Animated Com Award

$

Within the 22nd Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film the best productions in the field of applied animation received their prizes in the evening of May 8, 2015 in the Mercedes-Benz Museum Stuttgart at the Animated Com Award (ACA). In this competition the best applied animation in the fields of advertising, spatial communication and technology are awarded. Also the special prizes Future needs Derivation – Individual Mobility by the Daimler AG and the Lapp Connected Award by U. I. Lapp GmbH have been given.

The applied animation became a frequently used and pioneering medium in advertising and product films”, said Dittmar Lumpp, Managing Director Organisation and Finances of ITFS, “therefore we’re happy to have the opportunity to honour this work with the Animated Com Award.” Since this year the Animated Com Award cooperates with spotlight – Festival für Bewegtbildkommunikation, its awarding ceremony takes place on May 9 in Stuttgart for the first time. “We’rereally delighted about bringing spotlight to Stuttgart”, said Prof. Ulrich Wegenast, ITFS’s Managing Director Programme. “With this cooperation some exciting synergies in advertising and animation will emerge.”

The awardees

The main prize was awarded to Arnaud & Jérôme from France for “League of Legends: Warriors”. “The trailer for the World Championship of Free2Play Games is a pure building of worlds! Three minutes of a pulling effect with absolutely perfect images, movements and music transport the game’s and community’s fascination”, says Prof. Thomas Hundt, Creative Director, CEO Jangled Nerves GmbH from Stuttgart and jury member. Besides Thomas Hundt the jury consisted of Dr. Martin Feyock (Munich), CEO of the advertising section for the board of German Producers Alliance – Film & Television, CEO of Exploitation Company TWF Trust Company and the German Academy of Advertisement;  Prof. Kathi Käppel (Berlin), director, illustrator, Weißensee Art Academy; Michael Preiswerk (Stuttgart), creative director and consultant; Florian Rederer (Stuttgart), CEO SCHOKOLADE Filmproduktion GmbH and Mate Steinforth (Berlin), CEO Sehsucht GmbH.

Within the category Advertising a brand leader in sports made it: Manvsmachine from Great Britain won with their commercial “Nike Mercurial Superfly IV”. The “feature film in 54 seconds” convinced the jury members in all five judging criteria concordant. “The idea is new, clear, convincing and technically excellent. Plus it brings joy. Essential traits of successful and creative advertisement”, they explained.

The Animated Com Award for Technology was awarded to “Ghost Peloton” by Mark Huskisson, Great Britian again. “LED technique isn’t new. Bicycling isn’t new. But the fact, that usual technique develops to a new, spatial unlimited light art by moving and dance performance, is fascinating”, the jury says.

Smart Ampelmännchen” by Marten Persiel from Germany won the award within the category Spatial Communication. The jury: “An automobile manufacturer makes pedestrian lights “smart”: you see yourself and the others as dancing figures – and you don’t mind waiting at the red sign. That’s how you like safety technology!

Nate Theis (USA) and his production “Driving” can be lucky about winning the special prize Future needs Derivation – Mobility in a Digital World by Daimler AG, which includes 2,500 €. The jury chose the film  “because the animation captures an everyday traffic situation and makes it ad absurdum by its exaggerated narrative style, plus the story and the images polarize the viewer.”

With the Lapp Connected Award (also 2,500 €) the special prize by U. I . Lapp GmbH, “Pass It On” by Teresa Cruz was awarded. The jury’s explanation: “The short film manages it in a likeable way to visualize the context of creativity with machines, electronic and production processes.”

Also within the event keynote speaker Jörn Großhans, VFX Supervisor at Mackevision – recently Emmy-awarded for “Game of Thrones”– gave insights into his work.

This year’s prize sponsors are Daimler AG, U. I. Lapp GmbH and the Animation Media Cluster Region Stuttgart. Partners are Spotlight – Festival für Bewegtbildkommunikation, jazzopen stuttgart, netzwerk P production, fischerAppelt, Hansgrohe, Ilg-Außenwerbung and KlickPiloten.

Terror Film Festival 2015 Call For Entries is OPEN

Terror Film Festival is a blood-chilling, alien-probing, super-thrilling online international film festival designed for filmmakers and screenwriters that runs every October! And our Call For Entries is now open!

We are the only film festival in the world that offers the opportunity for filmmakers and screenwriters to get major exposure by bringing the audience right to their film. Also, being online removes the shackles of venue limitations (which limits the amount of people who can see your film -- 25 people vs 25 million people!) increasing the potential for you to gain more fans. Plus, we offer the one and only Claw Awards for film and screenplay. And, our world-class screenwriting competition is a great feather in the cap for any screenwriter. We do our best to let you know that it is all about YOU.

“TFF believes that it is through a legion of fans that a filmmaker or screenwriter can build a solid career in entertainment.”
~ Fel Angel, Filmmaker/Screenwriter/Festival Director/Terror Film Festival

Official Website:www.TerrorFilmFestival.com

Terror Film Festival was founded by filmmakers and screenwriters, and we know how difficult the road to success can be. That’s why we screen short films during the festival, but not the feature films. We only screen the feature film "trailers". The reason being that the integrity of your feature film must be kept intact if you expect to get a distribution deal. This way, your project can still be reviewed, you can still compete in the Claw Awards competition, and you can still have the opportunity to sell your film to fans during the festival. But, you do not suffer any interference with any distribution deal offers! Plus, All films and screenplays are reviewed by our selections committee, and all selected films and screenplays then become nominated for the coveted Claw Awards. Who knows, perhaps YOU will win the next Claw Award!

Terror Film Festival considers both short and feature length films and scripts (completed and Works-In-Progress), and we offer prestige, recognition, amazing exposure, and the Claw Awards. And we are completely driven by love of the craft. That's why TFF is committed to the filmmakers and screenwriters who bring great genre movies to the world. TFF is Halloween Cinematic!

Terror Film Festival is run like no other festival, because it is designed to help promote YOUR PROJECT, and more importantly, YOU. Our innovations are all designed to further YOUR career. Such as: Princess Horror, the first-ever film festival icon who is loved and followed by a legion of fans; The Claw Awards, the first-ever full-blown genre dedicated awards (heralded as "The Oscars of Indie Filmmaking"); Free Submitted Film Listings, the first and only listing of submitted films on a festival website in our massive stand alone section as an additional promotional vehicle for our creative artists as a thank you JUST FOR SUBMITTING A PROJECT.

Terror Film Festival also pioneered placing video interviews of our creative artists on our website. These are all unique marketing ideas that no other film festival in the world had ever explored before TFF. And we do it all because it brings more attention to YOU. TFF pioneered all of these concepts in 2006 to better serve our filmmakers and screenwriters, and we are proud to continue to offer them to our creative artists.

Thank You and Good Luck from Terror Film Festival.

Unveiling at Festival de Cannes of a brand-new "star" award tailored for 3D masterpieces

$

Festival de Cannes, a press conference unveiled to the world of cinema the creation of a new award destined to recognize and honor the best productions and other masterpieces in 3D.

The announcement of this new award for 3D - which could quickly reach the notoriety of some of the world's best-known awards - followed the announcement, at the same press conference, of another initiative just as strategically important for 3D, i.e. the creation of a new association called the "3D Guild", conceived to link the professionals from all over the world who share a passion for 3D, in order to help them to work in concert, to push always further back the fascinating and sometimes surprising frontiers of 3D.

The new award for 3D has naturally been named the "3D Guild Award". The first awards will be given out on 17 December during the 3D Stereo MEDIA event, traditionally held in Liège, Belgium, since 2009. The jury will meet in London in November to identify the first winners.

The idea of creating a new association and a new award for 3D was initially proposed by the two organizers of this major, internationally acclaimed event, i.e. Prof. Jacques G. Verly (University of Liège, School of Engineering) and Alain Gallez (Image&3D Europe). They received full support from several key actors of 3D in Europe, and defined with them the details of the new association and award. They also consulted with the "Advanced Imaging Society" - formerly called the "International 3D Society" - to work synergistically with it, in the best interest of 3D worldwide. The new award was designed by a young Belgian designer, Mr Thien Vo.

The 3D Guild was officially founded on 8 May, as an international non-profit organization, symbolically headquartered in the Capital of Europe, Brussels. Its 11 founding members come from Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, and the United Kingdom.

The 3D Guild defines itself to be "an association of people for people", devoid of any corporate influence. In the same spirit, the 3D Guild Awards will go to people, as opposed to content (even if the selection is based on the screening of content).

The initial presidency of the Guild was entrusted to Prof. Jacques G. Verly, and the co-presidency to Angus Cameron (Vision3, UK) and Joséphine Derobe (Stereographer, FR).

The 3D Guild will initially focus on the domains of entertainment (cinema, television, virtual/augmented reality, videogames,...) and research, the latter cutting across all applications of 3D.

The Prize La Caméra d’Or

Created in 1978 to contribute to the recognition of young filmmakers, the Caméra d’Or prize is awarded to the best first film presented either in the Official Selection (Competition and Un Certain Regard) or in The Directors’ Fortnight and in the Critics’ Week. The Caméra d’Or prize is handed out during the closing ceremony of the Festival by the president of its jury.

L’OEil d’or - The Documentary Award

Cinema was born as a documentary. Appearing more and more frequently on the silver screen, attracting increasing attention from critics and growing ever more popular, the singular perspective of documentary films on the world deserved to have a place of its own in Cannes. Each year, L’OEil d’or, created by Scam in cooperation with the Cannes Film Festival, will be awarded to the film singled out by an independent jury from the documentary selection, including all sub-categories (Official selection, Un Certain Regard, Cannes Classics, Directors’ Fortnight, Semaine de la Critique, Special Sessions, Out of Competition, short films and full features).

The jury of the first Documentary Award, presided by Rithy Panh alongside Nicolas Philibert, Irène Jacob, Diana El Jeiroudi and Scott Foundas, will hold its ceremony on Saturday 23 May at the Palais des Festivals.

Europa Cinemas Label

Created in 2003, the Europa Cinemas Label aims to enhance the promotion, circulation and box-office runs of European awardwinning films on the screens of a cinema network stretching across Europe. Awarded by a jury comprised of Europa Cinemas member exhibitors to one of the European films selected in the Directors’ Fortnight, the film is given the conditions of reaching a large audience.

Needless to say, that means the Label is awarded at a crucial moment in a film’s career: its presentation at a major festival, a strategic stage in its release on the international market. The Label mobilises the media, the sales agents, the distributors and the exhibitors by providing them a financial incentive for programming the film on its release date and screening it for an extended period. In this way Europa Cinemas encourages exhibitors to programme the film in all corners of its network, which comprises 2 350 screens in 977 cinemas established in 596 cities in 42 countries. JURY 2015: Marijana Bošnjak, Kino Urania – Osijek (Croatia), Édouard Meier, Cinema Galeries – Brussels (Belgium), Ulrika Sundbäck, Cinema Zita – Stockholm (Sweden), Boris Thomas, Ciné St-Leu – Amiens (France).

SACD Prize

SACD (Society of Dramatic Authors and Composers) is a services society for creators in the audiovisual and performing arts sectors. It accompanies over 55 000 audiovisual and performing arts creators in their professional environment. It advises and assists them on legal, tax and social matters. SACD is fostering authors’ creation, promotion and training as well as dissemination of their works, through its cultural development program financed with private copying schemes. In this sense, the sacd supports festivals such as the Directors’ Fortnight, which seek to make authors and films known. At the Fortnight, the sacd honors a french-speaking in the selection. This film is chosen by the cinema commission. Cinema commission of SACD: Bertrand Tavernier (president), Jean Becker, Laurent Heynemann, Jean Marboeuf.

Art Cinema Award

The International Confederation of Art Cinemas (CICAE) will present the CICAE Art Cinema Award for the best feature at the closing ceremony of the Quinzaine. The first international association of art house cinemas (over 3000 screens in 35 countries in Europe, Latin America, USA and Africa), the CICAE has been committed to promoting quality cinema in all its cultural and artistic diversity for the past 60 years. The CICAE is a network of networks and represents a bridge between film festivals and cinema theatres.

Since the end of the 1980s, the CICAE has intensified its efforts to support emerging talents, support the circulation of art films and guarantee cultural diversity in cinema theatres with the cicae Art Cinema Award. This prize is awarded in major European festivals by a jury comprised of member exhibitors and festival programmers. It aims at discovering high quality films that also have the potential ability to reach a large audience in art cinemas.

The CICAE promotes the awarded films by recommending them to its wide network: 2000 exhibitor members, distributors and the press. In so doing, it fosters a culturally diverse, innovative and compelling programme throughout the screens of its network and encourages distributors to sign the awarded films.

The CICAE jury at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs 2015 is composed of Francesca Bolognesi (Villa Medici – Italy), Myriam Djebour Roumier (Cinéma Les Carmes – Orléans, France) and Matthias Damm (Casablanca Filmkunsttheater – Nurenberg, Germany). The cicae is recognized by the Conseil de l’Europe, UNESCO, the Programme media, the CNC (France), the FFA (Germany) and the dgc (Italy). In 2015 it celebrates 60 years of activity – 60 years of passion for art house cinema and for new cinematic discoveries.

The illy Award

For years now, illycaffè has been encouraging and sponsoring young artists, notably contributing to the circulation of contemporary art through the support of artists, institutions and international exhibitions. In this same dynamic, the Italian roaster is developing its partnership with the Directors’ Fortnight and has chosen to honor one of the shorts in the selection for the fourth year in a row.

The spirit of this initiative is part of illy’s: seek out the beautiful and the new, bring it out and promote it. This prize, attributed by a jury of professionals, comes with a 2 500 euros cash prize designed to encourage the winning director and will be presented during the Fortnight’s closing ceremony. The film will be chosen by a jury composed of Lolita Chammah, Peter Debruge, Sophie Reine, Marc Sanchez and chaired by Olivier Jahan.

The BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express® is introducing a new Short Film Competition in 2015 as part of its overall commitment to supporting and developing filmmakers. In line with the Festival’s Official, Documentary and First Feature Competitions, 12 films will compete for the BFI London Film Festival Short Film Award.

The Festival’s programme team, led by Festival Director Clare Stewart, will shortlist 12 short films from across the festival programme which demonstrate a distinctive cinematic style and a confident, original handling of chosen theme and content.

The winning film will be selected by a jury of senior international film professionals and the Short Film Award will be presented at the BFI London Film Festival Awards Ceremony on Saturday the 17th of October in London.

Recognising the importance of the limited exhibition opportunity for short filmmakers, the LFF has recently revised its eligibility guidelines for short film. Eligibility for the festival progamme and shortlisting for the Short Film Award will be in line with new general submission guidelines: short films must have been completed within the previous 18 months, and can have previously screened anywhere in the world or UK, broadcast or been made available online, ensuring a curated selection of excellent work.

The BFI London Film Festival has a long history of recognising and supporting new film talent through its short film programming and have previously screened early short works from filmmakers such as Andrea Arnold, Peter Strickland, Ana Lily Amirpour, Destiny Ekaragha and Sean Durkin who have also gone on to screen feature film work in the Festival.

BFI London Film Festival Director Clare Stewart says, “The BFI London Film Festival has long valued the short film, a form in which filmmaking is often at it's most original, daring and playful. We build on this commitment by creating a new platform to celebrate this essential facet of cinema, in line with our other competitive strands for fiction, documentary and debut features. We look forward to profiling more great filmmaking talent and presenting the boldest, brightest and most striking international short films at LFF in 2015.”

Films shortlisted to compete for the Award will screen within the curated short film programmes across the festival’s main programme strands, and then have a repeat screening in additional Short Film Award Collections on the final weekend of the Festival.

The deadline for the submission of short films is 12 June 2015, they can be submitted through the BFI London Film Festival website at www.bfi.org.uk/lff.

The 59th BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express® runs from Wednesday 7 October-Sunday 18 October 2015.

Stockholm International Film Festival presents a new international film award: Stockholm Impact Award with a prize sum of 1 million SEK (approx. 120 000 USD). The Stockholm Impact Award will be awarded for the first time during Stockholm Film Festival in November 2015.

The Stockholm Film Festival presents a new competition for international film. Impact is a section for headstrong visionaries who reflect our contemporary world.

We are proud to present this new award, which will be one of the biggest film awards in the world. Several factors point to Stockholm as an ideal platform, the timing after Toronto and AFM is attractive for a European launch. The festival has great experience with high profile directors who’ve enjoyed the distinctive Nordic ambience of the city.

- Git Scheynius, festival director

Stockholm Impact Award

The prize of 1 million SEK should be used as a support for the further work and development of new film projects.

Between seven and ten films from all over the world will participate in the competition. The films should be at least 72 minutes long and have their world, international or European premiere at Stockholm Film Festival.

All the competing directors will be invited to the festival to present their films and to take part in a seminar held at the City Hall in Stockholm. The prize is made possible with the contribution of City of Stockholm.

Fresh on the heels of the successful 16th Annual Golden Trailer Awards on May 6th in Los Angeles, the Golden Trailers Producers hit La Croisette to bring the sublime magic and excellence in movie trailers to the wider world with the introduction of a brand new global competition, The World Trailer Awards, which will debut in London October 16th, 2015, to a worldwide audience.

Executives Evelyn Watters and Monica Brady announced the “Call for Entry” from a glitzy, trailer infused celebration aboard the yacht Lady Jersey in Cannes on Sunday, May 17th.

The Golden Trailer Awards, an LA based awards show devoted to feature film previews - the Gold Standard in movie marketing - is expanding its brand to point a greater spotlight on excellent trailers from across the globe.

The format of the World Trailer Awards will be an Olympic-styled competition structure with one trailer being selected per country, per category to compete against top trailers from other countries from around the world. The final vote will be determined by an expert panel of international judges with awards being handed out Gold, Silver and Bronze for top spots.

The Golden Trailer Organizers bestowed a special, honorary award for the best movie trailer for a film in Un Certain Regard to the film ‘An’ by Japanese film director Naomi Kawase. Flat screen TVs at the event featured the foreign trailers that were nominated or won Gold in last week’s Golden Trailer Awards which took place in Los Angeles, with host T.J. Miller.

Said Golden Trailers Executive Director Evelyn Watters:“Trailers play such a huge role fuelling the global box office, that it only makes sense that we have a presence here in Cannes, the kick off of World Trailer’s CFE offered the perfect opportunity.

Added Executive producer Monica Brady: “The trailers for the films nominated in Cannes have become increasing more sophisticated in recent years. The filmmakers who have quality trailers completed in time for Cannes are more likely going to be the films we hear about and want to see. A great trailer is a powerful tool for filling theater seats, generating buzz and the best way to support the investment of time, labour and money behind the films they preview.”

The world Trailer Awards ‘Call for Entry’ opens on Sunday, May 17th with trailer and poster categories. Deep discounted ‘Early Bird’ pricing is offered through July 17th, with final submissions deadline Saturday, September 12th, 2015.

Frat Dude Secret Gossip

Due to extreme high volume of requests and curiosity of the general public this blog/article has to be published. The “Fratmen Fratpad Tributes” are more than 100s of songs and more than 1000 music videos given as a tribute to all the  Fratmen of Arizona. Kindly note the songs are not random and they are about actual people. The setting of the music videos is Arizona. All the other States such as California, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Chicago, Wisconsin, Florida, Alaska, Nevada, New York, and Missouri etc are used in songs as they are the home towns of the fratmen and also the videos are a patriotic tribute to all the States as well.

Fratpad Fratmen World Wide Tribute

This is a tribute to the Fratmen from Fratpad in Arizona. The days are now gone. it was a secret. "Cyberspace" is "Arizona". The days may not return but the memory is stored in the songs and lyrics of this tribute video. well, Fratpad made and makes America the most funnest place on earth. it was better than all the parties and better than all the sex. But for me and for some other people its the past. But Fratpad is still there with new people. These videos were made in 2012 and 2013 and released in 2014 on DVD in the USA via Seattle and "The Soul of Cole (Musical)" , 29 music videos, all won an award in San Diego at a film festival. It feels great. There are more than 200 tribute music videos about Fratpad. This particular video on youtube "Fratpad Ultimate Tribute" is a compilation of the 3 main music videos taken from the double feature musicals based on Fratpad. It is dedicated to them. For my record these videos are bases on the fun times of Fratpad from years 2010 to 2012. Out of knowing more than 50 to 60 fratmen I guess. My most favourite fratmen was 'Kelan.' Its a shocker, I know, to declare him as the best fratmen ever. I have used the term "Caucasian Love Returned" particularly for two guys "Payne" and "Calvin" for year 2011 :). Enough said.

But Fratpad is still there.

This edition of the tribute is a film festival short. This short also generally tributes at all the frat houses and fratpad life in America and Canada. The songs have been sung about more than 50 fratmen from Arizona by Omer Pasha.

My Sexy Frat Girl

‘My Sexy Frat Girl’  is compilation of the certain sexy model, who should be known as the ‘frat girl’ as she has been the most cooperative chick ever.  This is a compilation of all her photo and music video shoots in her favourite pink glittering bikini.  She will not talk much but will look sizzling. Her dream was to be an actress in Hollywood and it actually came true as she is featured in countless musicals and music videos that were premiered in Canada .  She can be obviously spotted in all of Omer Pasha Music Videos.  She is a total beach girl, all natural and prefers no make up.  Well she has to be forced to put  on some lipstick. She is indeed famous in Arizona for  being filmed in her pink bra, that’s like her trademark. She is more of a model and ‘friend.’

Fratmen Fratpad World Wide Tribute (Part 2) [2015 Release]

Its deadly. The gossip and the memories. Gone by.  But these videos and songs will not take that away. Due to high volume of requests to what these songs are about an explanation booklet will be published on the blogs soon called ‘Frat Dude Secret Gossip.’ It is those typical things when you live in a very boring suburb thinking nothing is going on but no there is a certain house where 100s of hot fratmen are partying like mad all in secret in Arizona.  The crazy times we have had this is a tribute to those times, songs about more than 60 fratmen just for fun.  Most importantly these songs are non-fiction , they are not random they are about actual people and events all happening  at the fratpad. Well…used too..but it is still there. Once again these fratmen make the USA like the coolest funnest place ever, not a single dull moment.  This is an all men DVD  version which contains music videos that tribute and glorify the hot fratmen all over from the USA because they are just too much fun and you escape reality.  This DVD contains both music videos and some raw behind the scenes footage where the men actually get wild with each other.   A brand new revised audio album version is also out all over   Fratpad Fratmen (A World Wide Tribute).”  Madonna’s song and music of Vogue was an inspiration for the song ‘The Rise Of Shay in Florida.’

Fratpad  Fratmen World Wide Tribute Lyrics Original Lyrics Files.

Due to some heavy volume of requests for lyrics to my songs and also for my own sake, have to make these lyrics public. This is a raw file, giant file.   Still have to sort out. These are lyrics based on my songs about the Fratmen of Arizona. These times are gone. We all met in Arizona. We loved. Its all gone. I am Canadian. From Canada and I tribute to you Florida, Arizona, Wisconsin, Arkansas , California, Alaska and well Chicago . Made in YVR Vancouver.  Songs about a bunch of white dudes  going nuts in the nights in Scottsdale, Arizona. Other States are there cause they are their home towns. This file still has to be sorted just copying and pasting from raw desktop files. Coolest times ever . And I am Omer Pasha . Writer of all these  songs.  Cyberspace is a code word used to refer to Arizona.  ‘You Guys’ reading this. (old time members and those old frats legends) Ya ok its all in the in the past. I am cool about it. Always remember I am cool with it cause I have too many other lovers ;) hehehe.

Omer Pasha.

Wait I wanna write something more. For the old frats and members. So there are like more than 100 songs about these bitches actually released on itunes all over hahaha. I have to declare my most favourite song out of all these more than 100 songs about the fratmen. Yes behold its “All the Padcams” Padcams… I know its weird I loved it so much and still do. It captures the complete madness and craziness of the fratpad shows in so much secrecy in Arizona and saying cyberspace all the time. But anyway, had still no idea why ‘Bennie’s World’ was so popular amongst the frats, I remember Bennie singing ‘Leo’s Club’ in the shower. Max showing his butt on  Bennie’s World. Kelan and Austin lissening to ‘Kelan’s America’ in Hawaii and saying ‘ok moving on moving on’ so hilarious. Shay once messaged me on facebook that he laughed his ass off watching ‘Asspussy Shay Florida’ and KD kept telling me to take it off. Hahaha.. Kelan used to like me seeing making out with that big boob girl. This is so random. I think Jayden didn’t like the song about Draculas in his house. Vincent shaking his big big muscle boobs trying to sing “Frathouse Activity” I remember how Jace seriously thanked me for making a song about him ‘Frathouse Activity” hahaha  Anyway no im not nostalgic.  we have other things to do. Moving on….. I swear if only the residents of Arizona knew what was going on in their neighbourhood…..totally hilarious..

SoLeo's Club drove me into insanity.

Those days are gone,

the days of pain and pauly.

Now theres somebody I know in Alaska

Somebody is from Wisconsin

Chase is from California

the world's greatest prostitute fashion model resides in Florida

then there is somebody from Boston

Somebody in Arkansas

and Missouri's whore Max

Chicago's Liam

but the ones from Wisconsin take the cake

Do you think this is normal.

Leo and to all you fret stars

this is not a song

this is not an email

this isnt an instant message on the pad messenger

this is a sitemail like old times.  a sitemail.

Sung:

In America this is the greatest happening,

because theres somebody in Arkansas

who knows style and has pizazz,

theres someone from Alaska

whom I  miss dreadfully,

but the ones from Wisconsin and Missouri take the cake

and also the ones from Boston , Theo. Where are you

In California theyre a few too.

I didnt know how to work sitemail

I was stuck on it for days..hahahah

Its ironic I used to yearn to move to a place like Los Angeles,Hollywood,California

Patrick Doyle receives World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award

British composer Patrick Doyle receives World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award and Film Fest Gent launches crowdfunding campaign for a new Alan Silvestri album.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Patrick Doyle at the 15th World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent, following the festival’s focus on British Cinema.

Artistic director of Film Fest Gent Patrick Duynslaegher on choosing the composer: “This year’s focus of the 42nd Film Fest Gent will be on British Cinema, so Patrick Doyle was the ideal candidate to grant the Lifetime Achievement Award to, during the 15th World Soundtrack Awards. Anyone who can still recount hearing Doyle’s score for Kenneth Branagh’s debut film Henry V in 1989 for the first time, knows that back then a great composer was born. Ever since, Patrick Doyle has been a close collaborator with Mr. Branagh and always gave a deeper musical layer to all of his films including the Shakespeare adaptations (Henry V, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It and Love’s Labour’s Lost). The immensely versatile Doyle enriched the films by Robert Altman, Ang Lee, Chen Kaige, Alfonso Cuarón and Brian DePalma (one of his greatest scores was for Carlito’s Way) with his alternating tragic, noble, triumphant and romantic compositions. With his work on blockbusters such as Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire he certainly proved his talent working on spectacular Hollywood action and adventure films.”

Patrick Doyle, who recently scored Disney’s international box office hit Cinderella, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award during the WSAwards Concert for his outstanding career in film music. A selection of his work will be performed by Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by Dirk Brossé. The American composer Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump) and the 2014 WSAwards Discovery winner Daniel Pemberton (The Counselor, Steve Jobs) have also been confirmed as the central guest and performer of the evening.

Fans of Alan Silvestri’s work can support the recording of Film Fest Gent’s newest album, which focuses on the annual central guest of the WSAwards, by funding the crowdfunding campaign ‘Bringing film music to your ears'. Returns include a signed album by Silvestri himself, your name in the booklet, VIP tickets to the WSAwards, etc. The greater the contribution, the more you will receive. The crowdfunding campaign will be launched on Wednesday, 3rd of June at the online platform Indiegogo. A budget of €12,500 is required to finance a share of the recording of the album. You can discover everything about the campaign through this link: http://igg.me/at/filmfestgentalbum.

David & Joan Williams Documentary Fellowship Winner

$

Debut filmmaker Alan Hicks was yesterday awarded the prestigious David and Joan Williams Documentary Fellowship at a private reception and screening. The Fellowship is intended to reward creative ambition, intellectual rigour and innovation in documentary cinema.

Announcing the Fellowship on behalf of the selection committee Bob Connolly said, “ The Williams Fellowship is all about encouraging theatrical documentary as an art form. There was no doubt amongst the committee that Alan, whose debut film attracted international critical and commercial attention, is on the threshold of what promises to be a bold and exciting career. A most deserving recipient of this visionary fellowship.”

The selection of the Fellowship is by a small industry panel. It is the most substantial annual Fellowship available in Australia for documentary practitioners. The 2015 Fellowship will provide Alan with $50,000 with which to explore, expand and challenge his filmmaking practice and raise the bar of excellence in Australian documentary.

Alan Hicks is a musician and emerging Australian filmmaker whose feature debut Keep On Keepin' On follows the late jazz legend Clark Terry (Quincy Jones's first teacher). It tells the story of his relationship with a promising young pianist, Justin Kauflin, whom Terry first taught at William Patterson University and with whom he continued to work even through his failing health.

Alan Hicks said: “I am extremely fortunate to have discovered documentary filmmaking in an unconventional fashion. I was a student of the late Clark Terry, and also played drums in his band. I felt that Clark’s was an important untold story, and I was in a unique position to tell it. I was surprised to discover that it was Clark’s teaching that would guide me through the filmmaking process.”

Kim Williams said: “Because I believe documentary matters, I established, following the death of my parents in 2008 and 2009, a fellowship named in their memory – The David and Joan Williams Documentary Fellowship – which has been awarded annually through the Australian International Documentary Conference, quite independently from me.

The decision on who receives the fellowship is made by Bob Connolly, Victoria Treole and Julia Overton, ably supported by the AIDC’s former director Joost den Hartog. The Fellowship is intended to give an independent filmmaker a decent sum of money to have time to reflect and prepare for their next work. I hope it has been of some service to the four recipients thus far (Jennifer Peedom, Matthew Bate, Juliet Lamont and Lynette Wallworth). It also supported the visit to Australia by leading USA documentarian Joe Berlinger, who gave classes across the country under the auspices of the AFTRS a few years ago.

This year’s awardee, Al Hicks, sounds like a most worthy one and I was encouraged by the sense of focus and enthusiasm from a recent note he sent in response to my congratulatory message on his fellowship. Documentary matters now more than ever before, because it is about us and our society and its aspirations (and often our failings). Above all it speaks to us in our myriad voices and offers fresh perspective on the issues and activities that make up contemporary Australia.

In the future the Fellowship will transfer to the auspices of the Documentary Australia Foundation and will be biennial starting from this year’s award. I am committed to supporting great effort in documentary for some years to come – it is a vital crucible to examination and thinking in accessible and creative ways which matter, driving necessary national conversations.”

Alan Hicks said: “What I learned studying jazz with Clark Terry was how to use patience and diligence to produce art. This was the key to his teaching of jazz and—thankfully—it translates across art forms. Patience mixed with diligence, while developing an eye for "connection", was how we achieved a high level of storytelling in Keep On Keepin' On. Although it was my first film, I treated it like I was studying a new instrument. It took five years to complete, but I consider that to be just my first five years of studying the craft of documentary filmmaking. I hope to continue this style of filmmaking, with eyes and ears wide open. The Williams Fellowship gives me this opportunity”
